• Open club fencing

September - May

The doors open at 7 p.m. at the Grange Hall every Tuesday evening. Enter at the back door. Bring indoor-only court shoes. There are two restrooms and a changing room. No food or drinks allowed upstairs. We lay down rubber strips for the modern fencers according to the number fencing and generally share the rest of the floor between the historical styles. You are welcome to fence in your own way as long as you neither injure nor endanger anyone. The veterans present will generally give advice and even lessons when asked.

• Theatrical Combat

A core group of Sword Club members is again practicing theatrical swordplay. We will be using the original Musketeer swords as well as purpose-made German longswords. Interested persons should attend summer session meetings. See the Theatrical Swordplay page as well.

• Other Activities

The Sword Club regularly appeara at the Saline Celtic Festival.

A demo for a gathering of Kiwanis chapters

On occasion we will organize a demonstration, visit other clubs, enter tournaments, take a canoe trip, go out to dinner after fencing, or throw parties. After-fencing dinners are helpful for those who follow the Sword Club maxim that when the venue is available it is better to fence now, talk later. You do not have to be a long-time member to be involved in these activities.

The Sword Club demonstrates German Longsword and other arts at Metzger's annual OktoberFest every September
